The buzz for Los Angeles' fall 2005 fashion week at Smashbox Studios has begun. Shows rumored to be worth watching include Eduardo Lucero, Magda Berliner, Grey Ant, Mason by Michelle Mason, and Louis Verdad. Our obligatory celebrity angle: Lucero's red-carpet-friendly gowns have earned fans Angelina Jolie and Drew Barrymore, Verdad clothed Madonna for her recent tour, and Berliner is a former celebrity stylist.
A prominent local designer described L.A.'s shows as having, "A lot of great talent," but, she added, "It still feels very infantile -- very 101."
The shows are guaranteed to draw the usual crowd of model's boyfriends, hard-to-please LA Times fashion writer Booth Moore (whose husband appeared last year in sweats with tucked-in shirt), and people looking to knock off styles and sell them to Bebe.
