"Every few years," says the New York Observer, "the well-groomed girls of the fashion-and-philanthropy set light upon some lucky young man as their new favorite mascot." The it-boy of the moment, the electronic musician Moby, may not enjoy being described as "smart and cute and cuddly" by the founder of Alice and Olivia, or as a "really soft, sweet guy," by the market editor of Vogue. But perhaps he's ready to retire "vegan" as his go-to identifier.

I've been a fan of Moby for a long while, but I have to say that he hasn't done anthing to blow my mind in quite some time. I've listened to Hotel, and to be honest, it does nothing to justify Moby being the new "it" guy. If anything, I'd say the album makes him into "that" guy... the one who use to make cool albums.
