Two Shows, Two Worlds

The first day of spring 2006 haute couture was a study in oppposites. Dior designer John Galliano proved himself the master showman with a collection of dramatic and bloody costumes (above), while Armani started with yawn-inducing beige pantsuits, and then pandered to celebrity stylists with pretty, one-of-a-kind frocks you will surely see come Oscar season (below).
