Mini Couture
Tsia of Supernaturale is really smart. Without the cash to buy her dream wardrobe, she cut couture from tiny scraps of fabric and created teeny tiny versions of the things she wants, including a Issey Miyake gown, Balenciaga handbag and Chanel moon boots. What's next? "I am currently working on a Prada coat."

Don't Phone Home
If Naomi Campbell ever tells you she's going to give you a call, just back away, very slowly. The supermodel allegedly smacked her housekeeper over the head with a Blackberry, just eight years after throwing a phone at her assistant, or, as the Associated Press put it, "This was not the first time that Campbell allegedly reached out and touched someone with a phone."

Miami Exchange
After a half-hour delay that kept Miami's beautiful people near the open bar, the Armani Exchange show seemed to go on for days -- more than 30 looks came down the runway. A handful of the models were from the MTV reality show "8th and Ocean," suggesting that at least one reality show's models actually do get cast in shows.

Just Another Pretty Face
I've never laughed out loud watching "Top Model" like I did last night, and I feel a little bad about it. Crazy Janice's tormenting of poor Gina (left) was both priceless and sad. Watching the "great cheekbones, no potential" beauty strike a catalog pose just before her elimination was disturbing and hilarious. And the genuinely frightened look on Nigel's face while she was doing it, well, pretty much made my day. But I feel bad about it, I really do!

It Bag Factory
The science behind the "It bag" gets dissected by Time magazine, whose reporters go behind the scenes to check out Coach's next line, the Legacy collection. "It's a line of bags made out of burnished leather that ages as you wear it," says Time. It's supposed to look distressed, but we have a sneaking suspicion it will also mean you'll need a new bag in a few months. [via Fashionologie]

If rumors that Miuccia Prada might design a super-cheap collection for H&M prove true, we might as well all buy our body armor now. It'll take quite a fight to actually get at the stuff. Never Say Never
What will never, ever, ever be in fashion? A highly amusing thread on the Style.com bulletin board explores that very topic, coming across sticky roadblocks all the way. Wearing two different shoes? Nope, Nicky Hilton wore two different cork-heel Louboutins on the 2 B Free runway just last week. Neon green? Already coming back; American Apparel carries it. Black socks, shorts and sandals? I'll bet Marc Jacobs could find a way to make it work. "You'll see, old stuff that we would say are faux-pas will come back," wrote clonrnvox. The two things that really, truly do seem out of bounds? Combovers and lederhosen.

Double Vision
"Bandanas on every single girl, combined with these great big sunglasses, so you just get that complete blackness," Stephen Jones said of John Galliano's fall 2006 designs for Christian Dior. "It's an incredibly strong look." And it also happens to look just like the designer. [via Style.com]

Time for Daria
Mediabistro reads Time's style and design issue so we don't have to, noting that cover model Daria Werbowy appears in the advertorial-style magazine supplement 12 times, including an editorial, a Chanel ad and a Lancome ad. "That's roughly one Werbowy shot every 6.5 pages," notes Mediabistro.com, "a Bonds-like pace."

After the Faux-Hawk
While Dior Homme designer Hedi Slimane may have popularized the faux-hawk, the New Yorker wonders if his latest hairstyle will ever catch on: "Slimane's most recent haircut has not been widely imitated. It consists of a wad brushed thickly forward over the top of his forehead and cropped straight across. It looks, frankly, a little like a toupee. Slimane's friend Janet Street-Porter, the British writer and broadcaster, said, 'He looks like a demented monk.'"

Fruit Basket
Adding a little passion fruit to the health salad of new fibers enlivening skivvies this spring, Australian knicker-maker Aussiebum has designed a brief infused with micro-capsules of ginseng and acerola, a cherry-like fruit rich in antioxidants and vitamin C. Not everyone is sold on this novel way to take vitamins (Viagra might be next). New York-based dermatologist Deborah S. Sarnoff recently told the Daily News, "My advice would be that it's much better to drink your orange juice."

Sacred Cow of Fashion
Why is it that the boxy, tweedy Chanel jacket will not die? Everyone calls Karl Lagerfeld a genius, and he is, yet he will never kill what must be the longest-selling item in Chanel's roster other than Chanel No. 5.

The Long and The Short of It
Even though short-legged ladies may complain about all clothes being made to fit bodies with supermodel proportions, apparently there is a shortage of long pants. Earnest Sewn's new "Model Jean" will have a 35-inch legs, and, as Fashion Week Daily says, "catwalk legs not included."

Say It Ain't So
I'm an ardent fan of Amy Larocca's "Look Book" column in New York magazine. Honestly, who doesn't love seeing the wild and the weird of NYC street fashion and have them explain themselves. But her version of the spring 2006 uniform (left), in this week's issue, gives me major pause. This lady, who I always imagined as a sort of Jade Jagger decked out in Daryl K, dresses like my mom.
