Back to the Future

biba70s.jpgIt was the best of times, it was the worst of times. No, not the French Revolution, silly -- the 1970s! Ruth La Ferla at the New York Times says that all things 70s are back with a vengeance. Why? Because the 70s are perceived as "more glamorous yet more reassuring." (Hello, Watergate? Vietnam? Annie Hall?) And because the 70s were "authentic." I see. As a woman of the new millennium, my memories of the Biba and Kork-ease days are filled with Huggies and pacifiers. And anyway, I like my knock-offs and reinterpretations (Like Biba a la Vena Cava, left) just fine.
