The price of gold shot up dramatically, with prices last week hovering at a level they haven't been in almost 25 years. Almost as if on cue, hip hop kids have taken to re-introducing the "dookie" gold ropes of the Salt-N-Pepa / Eric B. and Rakim era. Actor and style maven Nick Cannon is one such -- told Flypaper he paid $18,000 for his about two years ago. Was he tipped by a jeweler? "I'm an 80s kid," he told us at the Complex magazine party last week. "I love old-school hip hop."
