A cadre of gifted young designers effectively launched the lowly fabric of felt into the realm of high design this weekend at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair in New York. The British team stood out for using the lowly craft fabric to lend heft to fanciful floral designs on pillows and rugs while the Japanese harnessed its Crayola intensity to their bottle blankets and lamp shades. Can't wait to see what next year's class does for safety scissors and Elmer's glue.
