Curbside Catwalk: Providence, Rhode Island

We stumbled upon Bootzi, right, a 22-year-old textile design studentat RISD and Mitzi, 23, a once-and-future psych/neurosci major outside AS220 in downtown Providence. Bootzi is into fluorescents, checks, and thick polyester. Mitzi is into whatever Bootzi designs because, "she's my style icon." They rarely wear something that didn't come from The Salvation Army, a.k.a. "Sal's."

Mitzi's wearing:
Woven cap: Sweater Venture, upstate N.Y.
Tee-shirt: Won in a raffle at this year's 20 Fest.("It was the high point of my week!") She cut off the sleeves.
Zebra-print collar and net shirt: "They're from a dominatrix friend."
Skirt: "Bootzi made it." (Bootzi's wearing a matching skirt.)
Gold cowboy Boots: Target.
Black/white striped pants: Sal's. "They're my favorite pants even though they're a little short and a little loose."

Bootzi's wearing:
Dress: Tailored XXL Dunkin' Donuts shirt (D.D. is huge in R.I. -- go figure.)
Red Raincoat & Pucci-esque scarf: Sal's
Black Crocs: "I can't wear stilettos because my feet are really wide." (We look beyond them to her fuschia stockings and black fishnets and say, "There's more of you to love."
