Diffusion Profusion

miu_miu_fall_06.jpgNew diffusion lines have been sprouting like mushrooms lately, including Galliano, McQ and Vera by Vera Wang. The diffusion line serves to make a big designer seem approachable, both in price and in style. Miu Miu, for example, is the poor woman's Prada, but also the hip woman's Prada. The big question is whether diffusions ruin the original label when they put out "logo-ed faux python print tacky-as-hell miniskirt in the Versace Jeans Couture line," as one Fashion Spot commenter observed.
