Ashleigh Verrier, a former Proenza Schouler intern and 2004 Parson's Designer of the Year, was caught atop a rooftop Manhattan party clad in her own design, a vintage-inspired coat with a poetic cotton princess dress. Verrier says "I realized I was wearing a lot of vintage while working for Proenza Schouler and decided to go in that direction with my own collections." The 25-year-old says she likes to reference the 1920s and 1930s beading and handwork in her designs but makes it modern as any good designer will. Featured in Saks and Nordstrom, Verrier featured her spring 2007 collection under the Bryant Park tents and is a designer to watch.
