Plenty of ink has been spilled about too-skinny models and incredibly shrinking celebs. But the starvation-related death of 21-year-old Brazilian model Ana Carolina Reston once again underscores the fashion industry's anorexia issues. Reston lived on a tomato and apple diet, carried just 88 pounds on her 5'8" frame, and had a body mass index 1.5 points below "starvation." Somehow banning underweight models seems inneffectual in the face of what Lauren Greenberg calls, in her new documentary "Thin," a serious mental illness.
