2006-01-h&m.jpgH&M may have gotten the cold shoulder from France after the company's bid to open a store on the upscale Champs Elysées, but the Swedish retailer has received a warm embrace from Japan, which will open its very first H&M in 2008. It seems the Champs has reached its limit -- Gap, Adidas and Zara all have flagships on the famous Parisian shopping street. "There is a risk that the Champs Elysées could become banal," the head of planning at Paris's city council told the Times (U.K.). Sounds like it's already well on its way.
