The Trouble With Knives

Dolce & Gabbana's fall 2006 ad campaign, featuring men with guns and knives and one poor fellow with a stab wound, drew not a peep of protest when shown in magazines all over the world -- until it hit Britain. They didn't like the violence so much, but D&G defended what they said was an homage to French Romantic painter Eugene Delacroix. In other news, Dolce & Gabbana will also be splitting their New York flagship into two, not, as one might guess, to separate Dolce from Gabbana, but to create separate women's and men's stores.
