Nude shades, metallics and ribbing were popular on the red carpet for the 79th Oscar Awards. Jennifer Hudson rocked a brown ruched metallic Oscar de la Renta gown and picked up a gold Oscar statuette to go with it. Other lovelies included Reese Witherspoon, who stuck with Olivier Theyskens for Nina Ricci in a stunning layered violet gown, Gwyneth Paltrow wore a gorgeous peachy frock by Zac Posen, and Jada Pinkett Smith looked glammy in a golden gown by Carolina Herrera. Of her metallic gladiatrix Armani Prive gown, Cate Blanchett said. "It's so heavy, it's giving me a workout." Jennifer Lopez was the one to wear Marchesa, which her husband Marc Antony claimed to pick out for her. The worst look of the night goes to Faye Dunaway, whom I adore, but, man, that dreadful J. Mendel dress was a bad call.
