Incredible Shrinking Fashion Week

9.jpgLos Angeles fashion week has been losing its local designers to New York for a long time now, and this year the pickings are slim. Grey Ant, BCBG and Rock & Republic all do New York shows now, giving them a running start on the super-late L.A. shows. We have no clue what's ahppened to Louis Verdad, Chan Luu or Jennifer Nicholson, whose show got tons of attention last season. Indie designers Life & Death and Morphine Generation (off to NYC) have been replaced with mall staples such as Ed Hardy, Bebe and 2(x)ist. On the bright side, Imitation of Christ will be there, but they show everyplace now.
