The Usual Suspects

Are they just photocopying the list from last year or are there really only a few designers worthy of the Council of Fashion Designers of America womenswear designer of the year award? Nominees this year include Oscar de la Renta (won in 2000), Proenza Schouler (nominated in 2006), and Marc Jacobs (won in 1997, nominated in 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006...). By process of elimination, I guess that means Proenza Schouler (pictured) will win? In other news, we were excited to discover that the CFDA shares an acronym with the California Funeral Directors Association.
