lv-mono.jpgA fascinating tidbit of Louis Vuitton history, from the New Yorker's wonderful shopping correspondent Patricia Marx: "The LV monogram was designed in 1896, by Georges Vuitton, Louis's son, who put the emblem on his leather goods to insure against counterfeiting (ha!)"

LV purses with the LV logo are overrated... but if you do have one, you can make sure it's authentic by looking at the LV's... they shouldn't get cut off. (ie all the LV's should be whole)
