If folks are going to profit from your hard work with cheap knockoffs, why not beat them by joining them? This seems to be the logic behind a possible third diffusion line from Marc Jacobs, one even cheaper than Marc by Marc and Stinky Rat. "There is a bigger audience that just can't afford designer prices," Jacobs told the International Herald Tribune. "We have always felt that we would like to provide it." Some think the proposed name, Marc3, sounds too much like Y-3, Yohji Yamamoto's line for Adidas, but who cares if it's actually affordable? [via The Fashion Spot]

I suppose the name Marc3 is because it's a third line?
The question is- where would it be sold? A separate boutique chain, next to all the high priced goodies at his places now?
My worst nightmare is that he'll open up a whole separate chain for this line, I'll walk in... and it's a reincarnation of Sears.
not sure where it would be sold, sounds like it's in the planning stages right now. could be a separate line, a la miu miu. or it could be cheap and crappy t-shirts and stuff, a la A/X.
