Shoes in the Afterlife

A series of ads featuring dead rock icons such as Sid Vicious, Kurt Cobain and Joey Ramone wearing Doc Marten combat boots in heaven have been deemed tasteless by survivors, most notably Cobain's widow Courtney Love, and have been pulled from British magazines. We take issue with it, too. I mean, not only would these figures hate the idea of selling shoes in their image, but would Sid really be in heaven?

Not to mention that none of those guys would have signed an endorsement deal with them if they were alive — my first question is who greenlighted the Cobain deal?

Or did they just do it? That would be crazy given how litigious C. Love is.
