Cute as a button. That's what we thought when we came upon Jen O. in a restaurant in the Marigny, New Orleans' hippest neighborhood. The diminutive doll makes a big statement with a few key items. Her dress, from local design emporium Fabrik, speaks volumes about this season's empire waist. "I'm crazy about little dresses for summer. They just look so sweet," says this local style-maker. And just to make sure things don't get too saccharine, she anchors the outfit with Gianni Bini boots ($350 dollars bought on sale for $40) and adds a splash of color with her Urban Outfitters necklace and sunglasses frm French Market, a local flea market. "I love dressing up," the 33-year-old told us. "Fashion is about playing around with things... I'll spend $400 on something I love, but most of the time I just find inexpensive pieces and throw them together."

That dress looks very much like a dress I just saw at target. This one has skinny straps and a better waist, but the rest is identical...
