We weren't surprised to find Jackie B. looking for some plain tops to play with at American Apparel. After all, her favorite thing to do "is to change things up." This 20-year-old Penn student stayed true to that concept when she paired an Anthropologie jumper and Balenciaga bag with affordable Kmart slip-ons and a T-shirt from Gap, expertly joining quirky and luxe. But like her fashion idol (and Marc Jacobs' cohort) photographer Cindy Sherman, simply mixing it up wasn't enough. Jackie used a gold necklace to lengthen the strap on her bag and took a pair of scissors to her gray-and-baby-blue-striped former-crewneck shirt. Top it off with super nerd-chic glasses -- "the kind the army used to prescribe." -- and voila!
