Curbside Catwalk: Philadelphia

We spotted Rachel M. getting her shop on near Anthropologie, the same place where she snagged this adorable and delicate black velvet dress. The bold yellow sash highlights the flattering empire waist, and the polka dots make a dangerously luxe fabric more fun than formal. After all, that's what this 22-year-old student loves: "clothes with a sense of happy." And don't forget to add a pinch of sumptuous; her flat sandals are from a buttery leather, embellished with slate-colored metal details. "They're sexy enough thanks to the straps, but are totally comfortable and practical since they're flat," she says. Right now, she can't wait to break out her tights of many colors – yellow, aubergine, teal, and the usual suspects of black and brown – when there's finally a chill in the air. We bet they'll add a dash of happy to whatever she's wearing!
