Spring in Stumptown

adamarnoldspring.jpgI had the pleasure of attending Portland designer Adam Arnold's spring 2008 show last Friday night, and I was thoroughly impressed. The clothes were fun, even great at times, but more interesting to me was Arnold's unfettered willingness to chat up the crowd and share his inspirations during the show. (Sample: "This dress is so European Vacation to me. You know, that scene when they go shopping in Milan?") His passion and personality (not to mention fearlessness when it came to spring colors and bold patterns) made me feel proud of P-town's ever-emerging fashion scene. I almost wish Adam would throw his hat in the "Project Runway" ring- he would be the most bubbly contestant ever- but then again, Portland has always kept a low profile. And we like it that way.
