Comfy Dresses for Summer

bluefly-flypaper-blog-IDOM.jpg It could be that I woke up to the 10th grey day in a row this morning, or the fact that I haven't been able to completely retire my winter coat yet. But I was utterly pleased to hear from one of my favorite Portland designers today, Modi Soondarotok. The Thailand native and Parsons-trained designer, whose label is called IDOM (that's Modi spelled backwards), is dedicated to creating dresses (like that pictured here) that are comfy, roomy and cut to fit healthy, normal women. Actually, I'm thinking summer is the one season where comfort and cuteness easily go hand in hand, like in this green cotton dress that's as perfect for work as an afternoon strolling the beach- or in the case of Portlanders right now, curling up by the fire.
