Hillary Clinton's Pantsuits in Controversial Art Exhibit

Remember Dung-gate -- the Brooklyn Museum exhibit that got then NYC Mayor Guiliani up in arms over an artist's use of elephant dung in a painting of the Virgin Mary? Well, in terms of shock value, it has nothing on Yazmany Arboleda's virtual exhibits "The Assassination of Hillary Clinton" and "The Assassination of Barack Obama". Exploiting and exposing every stereotype associated with the 2008 presidential candidates -- from Hillary's manly pantsuits (check the pic of the faux letter signed by Anna Wintour) to the racist obsession with the size of the black male, er, member -- I'm not sure if Arboleda's over-the-top presentation shatters these stereotypes or feeds into them. We've all heard or had debates about the sexualization of Barack and the asexualization of Hill as the candidates tried to keep us focused on the issues as opposed to their identities. Is Arboleda just blowing up and mounting these discussions? Arboleda, who was picked up and later released by the Secret Service and New York intelligence officers for the threatening title of his exhibits says they're a legit representation of the media's assassination of the two historic candidates. He also admitted they were a publicity-seeking stunt (turns out the Leah Keller gallery which his website says debuted the works in February '08 does not exist, though the Miami Herald and Daily News ran stories on the exhibits as if they did). What do you think? Totally offensive or much ado about nada?
