The Definition of Chic

blue_flypaper_blog_annehathaway.jpg I received my July InStyle yesterday and was excited to see the young-but-old-soul fashion icon and actress Anne Hathaway absolutely shining in a 1960s-inspired spread. The July cover girl and Get Smart star (seen here in shimmery Bill Blass) particularly captured my attention with her definition of chic: "Someone who can do a lot with very little." This is, of course, laughable coming from someone whose shoes cost more than my rent, but I think Hathaway is right. Chic is a state of mind, so who cares if you're rocking $59.00 animal-print pumps with a $51.00 jersey-knit tank dress? Looking good is looking good.
