Madrid Sex Workers Stage Protest Fashion Show

madridsexwalk_blueflys_blog_flypaper_1.jpgPeople hold fashion shows for all sorts of reasons: disease awareness, fundraising, regional pride and of course the actual business of fashion. But the most out-of-the-box one we've seen in some time has to be a recent catwalk strut in Madrid organized by prostitutes concerned about developers gentrifying the places where they work. Though sex work is illegal in Madrid, dozens of ladies of the night took to the streets anyway in (what else?) revealing outfits to show people they were no threat to residents or shopkeepers. Interesting: a fashion show featuring people who do their best work naked. We're guessing there was no shortage of thongs.
