Looking Olympic

polo.olympics.bluefly.jpgSure the Olympics is great for the sports and all, but it's featuring some innovative fashion stuff too. Nike has given a new twist to the equestrian boot by giving it synthetic rubber on the side and Air cushioning, and Speedo's new swimsuits are famously making swimmers glide through water faster. (They're pretty cute too.) But the gold medal for Olympic fashion goes to Ralph Lauren, the official outfitter for the U.S. Olympic team. For the opening ceremonies, Polo's clean sportswear silhouette was interpreted in navy blazers and caps, and as the sketches show above, closing ceremonies will feature white Bermuda shorts. Not much for innovation, but why mess with classic American style?
