Aveda Goes Designer Eco

reusable-cotton-tote-bag-blueflys-blog_flypaper.jpgAveda has partnered with Kate and Laura Mulleavy of Rodarte, Alexander Wang, Phillip Lim, and Justin Thornton of Preen for Kick The Cap Out Of Oceans Plastic, an event on September 4 at the Greenwich Hotel. The party will be the kickoff of Aveda's Caps Recycling Program, and all food and cocktails served will be organic. The designers for their part have agreed to serve tap water instead of bottled water backstage at their shows, eliminate fur in their collections, print all invitations and programs on post-consumer recycled paper, and serve organic, locally-sourced food backstage, provided by Aveda.

Hold up, tap water? I bet my favorite pair of Jimmy Choo shoes, those designers are going to be carrying unmarked flasks full of Spring water...I mean come on.....
