Gossip Girl: All's Fair in Love & Wardrobe

Did you watch? Serena wore a micro-mini to piss off Bart and her mom. (Bart and Lily are trying to present a wholesome image to the press -- InStyle was in the house -- and some family values investors interested in putting capital in one of Bart's businesses.) And Dan found out Nate was squatting at his parents' old -- now seized -- house.

But the night belonged to Chuck (and his dandy blazers, smoking jackets & graphic sweaters) as Blair tried to manipulate him into her bed. As a way to get him there quicker, she dared him to "seduce and destroy" Vanessa. Of course, it's not as simple as Blair imagines it'll be.

Vanessa introduces Chuck to the owner of a condemned Brooklyn bar who ribs him for his sartorial choices and regales him with old skool tales of a bootlegging Joe Kennedy chilling at the bar back in the day -- thereby rousing the dormant trust-fund activist in Chuck. He'll buy the bar and help secure landmark status for Vanessa -- or was it, Blair?

Blair can't handle watching a connection develop between Vanessa and Chuck and agrees to have sex with Chuck, as promised, for "losing" her reverse psychology bet that he could not get Vanessa to fall for him. Chuck starts to take his prize -- Blair let him know she'd paid a visit to Manhattan's Brazilian wax titans, J Sisters -- but then takes it back to their impasse in the Hamptons, repeating the ultimatum Blair gave him.

"Say those words," he demands. She refuses. Saying "I love you" to a person you actually love would be too clear -- "It's complicated" is way more interesting than "In a relationship", right, Facebook Generation? The end.
