The candidates (with Pastor Rick Warren) at the Saddleback Church Forum in August, seeking the endorsement of a power higher than a suit.
With John McCain and Barack Obama trying to look presidential yet approachable to "Joe the Plumber", the power suit has gone casual Friday -- albeit with a decidedly GQ flair. Shirts go cufflink-less as sleeves get rolled up, top buttons are left undone, and ties are all about the pop and flash of primary colors and patriotic stripes -- if they're worn at all.
Fashion Blogger Liana Peterson thinks the tie-less look is the future for the man who means business. Repping for New England in our Fashion Decision poll about which candidate rocked their campaign suit best, she wrote, "I'm curious to see if more men will start losing the ties at work because of Obama. When JFK didn't wear a hat to his inauguration in 1961, men all over the country stopped wearing hats as part of their everyday wardrobe." Think execs across the country are going to start popping their collars?

It personally drives me crazy when my husband come through the door with a well cut suit and hot tie on. So I say, "tie him up."
