What's a 2.0 Wedding?by Nana at October 15, 2008, 8:30 AMSo Bluefly just launched a new wedding shop called Wedding 2.0 which I totally could've used when my friend appointed me bridesmaid and unofficial fashion consultant for her wedding. Something about, "You're into fashion. I'm thinking green. Go." She was in England. I was in New York. Her sister, one of the bridesmaids, was in London and the other bridesmaid was in Ghana, West Africa. ONE site where I could find: 1) a variety of green bridesmaid dress options in ONE place, AND 2) email the dress choices directly from the page to everyone for a yea or nay would've been awesome. After several email back and forths and long discussion threads about links to a million different dresses, the stressed out bride ended up just taking our measurements (via email) and sewing us the dresses we wore. It all turned out beautiful in the end, of course, but it would've been cool if we'd been more strategic about our 2.0. Like: 1) 'Steada sending emails all over the place, I COULD'VE STARTED A PRIVATE FACEBOOK PAGE for just the wedding party - a centralized place were we could post pics of green dress options. That way we could leave comments on the pics and be clear about everyone's feelings on the dress - not get caught up in a "which dress are we talking about again?" email thread. 2) 'Steada sending an overwhelming amount of links with an overwhelming amount of dresses, 3) We could've stayed on top of important deets like flight confirmations, and pre- and post-wedding events by USING MICROSOFT OUTLOOK or GOOGLE CALENDAR to input dates and circulate them via email to everyone who needed to know, so we would all receive automatic email reminders. What else? What 2.0 tips and tricks can you share with the "always a bridesmaids" among us? If you got nothing, no worries! We've got a panel of experts from BRIDES.COM, MARTHA STEWART WEDDINGS, & STYLE ME PRETTY ready to give you advice on how to make your wedding style and planning super easy. Just ask, and, starting next week, they'll answer. CommentsPost a comment
