About Michelle Obama Not Wearing Black Designers...

I've been keeping mum about this whole kerfuffle re: Michelle Obama not wearing black designers in her most visible moments -- Election day, the Inauguration, her first day in the White House -- mainly because I think it's unfair to put that pressure on her. First off, she and her husband won the presidency on a message of INCLUSIVENESS, not blackness. Secondly, she needs to go with the designers she'll feel most comfy wearing, being photographed in, and praised/ripped apart for. Thirdly, from what I've been reading it seems the designers she ends up wearing has more to do with what's in Ikram Goldman's boutique (one of her faves in Chicago) than anything else, so maybe it's Ikram who needs to get more Stephen Burrows, Duro Oluwo, Tracy Reese, and Lawrence Steele in his store and and life. (I've never been to the store so I'm not sure what all designers he carries.) Either way, can't a sister like and wear a Cuban/Chilean/Chinese/Chicagoan designer outfit in peace?
