Are you watching too?? In the tradition of Joan and Melissa Rivers (as seen here at the Grammys in '05), many of the night's red carpet critics don't really have much business calling out the stars' looks. Case in point: Jay Manuel. The oversized paisley print jacket the ANTM star wore was "FUG" (as opposed to "fab"), as the E! critics rated in the pre-show. Debi Matenopoulos looked cool in her liquid bronze dress, but a lil' too Studio 54 for me. I think a softer color -- perhaps cream to offset her tan -- would have worked much better; or even a softer, less just-broke-up-with-my-man style if she was really feeling the metallics, like this pewter dress by A.B.S. What d'you think?

Quote of the Day

“She's embracing new designers, different designers, she's not conforming to a certain mold of what a first lady should be. I think she's truly a modern woman in every sense.”

— Peter Som, on First Lady Michelle Obama's style choices. From WWD.com
