Gossip Girl: Breaking Up is 'Haute' To Do...

Check Serena out in our fave kind of "wintry mix": a chic hooded wool coat, suede boots and a killer tote.

...and so is making up, if Lily and Rufus have anything to say about it. But we're jumping the gun.

In Break Up News: Serena has made Dan a "Lonely Boy" AGAIN. Well, it was mutual. They both decide -- in the midst of Serena deciding she'll pursue admission at Brown instead of Yale where both she and Dan got in early admission -- that their parents' relationship (which CW confirmed to us is going to be the subject of a new Gossip Girl prequel!!) is just too creepy.

The Upper East Side society that only weeks before welcomed Bart and Lily into their rarefied circles just think it's tacky when Lily parades Roof around the Metropolitan Opera Charity Gala. Lily gets lots of cold shoulders, and catches some heat too as good ole Uncle Jack attacks her in the in the powder room. Chuck comes to Lily's rescue and Lily returns the favor by adopting Chuck so he can regain controlling interest of his father's company.

Meanwhile, Blair is on a mission. Her application to Yale was waitlisted so our favorite schemer goes to town on a new teacher, Rachel, who has the gall to give Lady B a B on an assignment. Having no idea who she's dealing with, Rachel reports Blair to the Headmistress.

But back to Lily and Rufus. The CW confirmed to us that their mad love story is set to be the basis of a Gossip Girl prequel! We're looking forward to finding out more of what was in Bart's mysterious file.
