In his first appearance as President on The Tonight Show, Barack Obama wore a red tie and navy suit

When we heard Barack Obama was going to be on Jay Leno, we wondered if he would go tie-less, since on the campaign trail and in the White House, he has preferred more relaxed looks. We also wondered what message it would send if he did go commando? Most of you thought he shouldn't appear anything less than presidential. It seems President Obama agreed. As did Kevin Eubanks, the frontman of The Tonight Show band whom Jay ribbed for wearing a suit. "I think this is the first time you've worn a suit!" Jay observed. President Obama complimented, "I think Kevin looks good in a suit."
