Jason Wu Says Michelle Obama's Inauguration Dress Was Inspired by Dolls

If only the scads of designers who created dresses for Michelle Obama's (and Ikram Goldman's) consideration had been thinking "What would a doll wear?" Jason Wu, the lucky designer whose dress Michelle Obama chose to rock on inauguration night, told the South China Morning Post, that the sparkling ivory dress embellished with crystals "comes from designing for dolls, where everything is so small." Wu, who was able to start his clothing line with money earned selling dolls, told the Hong Kong paper he still makes dolls.
