Gossip Girl: Changing of the Guard

The halls of St. Jude's/Constance won't be the same without Blair's headband tiaras and updated '50s housewife style, but from last night's finale, it seems Jenny is ready to take up Lady B's mean girl mantle and give it an '80s rock makeover. Now that we look back, it seems Blair has inadvertently been grooming Jenny for the tiara since the season began.

When Jenny was going through her high school dropout phase which included mouthing off to her boss who happened to be Blair's mother; crashing Bart and Lily's Black and White Ball to stage a fashion show with her designs; hooking up with Nate; seeking emancipation from Rufus; it was Blair who inadvertently got through to her -- with a scheme designed to humiliate Jenny, of course.

Remember? It was Eleanor's fashion show and Jenny was helping out backstage when Blair -- jealous that Serena and her socialite friends were asked to model for press purposes (which meant Serena would have to break the tradition of watching the show from backstage with Blair) -- threw a sartorial tantrum by switching her mom's dress with Jenny's design for the finale look. That night, Jenny got through to Blair too, letting her know she'd always looked up to Blair -- not Serena -- as the Queen.

Jenny eventually went back to school, and even though she tried to keep a low profile, Blair and the Mean Girls kept calling. She's valiantly fought scheme with scheme, blackmailing the crew, even sending embarrassing tips to Gossip Girl. And last night, Dan's little sis definitely earned her tiara. We love the idea of Jenny as the new Queen of Constance -- Brooklyn in the house!!! -- but we love even more that she shops at Bluefly! Natch.

Now all she needs is her Chuck (or Nate).

Till next season...

xoxo

“ Rihanna had planned to wear thigh-high, lace-up Louis Vuitton boots, but Madonna wanted to wear them, and insisted that nobody else could be seen or photographed in them.”
