More Warm Fuzzy Goodness from Mother's Day

Kenneth_Jay_Lane_dark_grey_pearl_beaded_long_necklace_Bluefly-170.jpgFor Mother's Day, we asked Bluefly customers to tell us how their moms have influenced their style and the responses could totally fill up a fashion version of one of those Chicken Soup for the Soul books. A few of our faves...

"I learned...how to tell good jewelry from junk. One never wears junk jewelry. To this day I'll own less jewelry than others and know I have the best that can be purchased in the style, size etc. I want. Which helps make the point that size isn't everything."

"I had no idea what amazing fashion sense she had when I was a little girl, playing dress up in her knee-high Frye boots, or trying on her Betsey Johnson cocktail dresses and Pierre Cardin sweaters."

"My mother has passed away, but I still have some of her cool clothes that remind me of her interesting style -- including a '60s 3/4 sleeve coral jacket with white trim, '70s grey wool coat with bow, and beaded evening bags. Her feet were a lot smaller than mine so I can't wear her amazing collection of shoes (all well-made and all visually interesting-no dull shoes in her closet!). I have inherited her soft spot for shoes and her love of dressmaking... she taught me that quality is most important, and that stay-at-home moms should enjoy fashion too!"

Tell us how your mom has influenced your style!

Quote of the Day

“ Rihanna had planned to wear thigh-high, lace-up Louis Vuitton boots, but Madonna wanted to wear them, and insisted that nobody else could be seen or photographed in them.”
