This past Saturday, the Chopard store in Paris was held up by a guy acting like a customer who made off with $9.2 millions worth of bling. Earlier last week, while actress Monica Bellucci was in Cannes promoting her new film Don't Turn Around, thieves were in her apartment (again, in Paris) looting jewelry and other items valued at up to $112,000. And in April, Hayden Panettiere lost $15,000 of jewelry when burglars looted her apartment.
Memo to the Thieves: thanks to These Economic Times, no one has the money to buy the stolen gems from you -- at least not for what they're worth (in dollars and all the effort you put into breaking and entering, and now hiding out from the cops). Next time, try the frugalista approach and splurge on some Kenneth Jay Lane or Lenora Dame? At prices starting at 40% off retail, they're a steal that's totally worth it.
“ To me, it's sexier when it doesn't look like you go to the gym. If you look like you've been spending a lot of time in the gym, then it just looks like you spend a lot of time in the gym.”
