Isn't it crazy how trends recycle? As a third generation seamstress, my mom was always serious about fashion and she used to create beautiful versions of what was on trend. In the late '70s and early '80s, her favorite thing to do was take beautiful bold prints and create long maxi dresses, cute jumpsuits, and drapey pants that were later coined 'Hammer Pants'. I used to make fun of her for keeping all those old clothes, but she would always insist that they would one day become fashionable again. Guess what... they are indeed back in style!

In spite of me hating to admit my mother was right, there are a couple of retro-inspired pieces from Bluefly that I absolutely have to have right now! This maxi dress from Walter is at the top of my list. It has a sexy neckline and a gorgeous print that even my mother would drool over. I'm also crushing on this jumpsuit by Free People that I can imagine my mother wearing in her younger years to a skate party at Studio 54! Who knew my mom had such great fashion sense... although the jury's still out on those 'Hammer' pants. EVERYTHING's 10% off on Bluefly today so I'm going to get to clicking...
