Brian Reyes' spring 2010 collection felt very natural and easy. Using lightweight Japanese cotton, crisp indigo denim, seersucker, silk crepe, and jersey, he sent a breezily elegant collection of mostly dresses and shorts down the runway with abstract patterns of sternums (yes, as in your breast bone), muted sepia prints, and pinches of fabric made to look like piping. LOVED the centipede tiers on several of the dresses, and the shorts. From Japanese jersey to shorts in high-cut denim, t-shirt material, and sequins-sprayed styles there'll be lots of cuts to choose from next spring. Are you looking forward?
“Well, I, uh - I read in The New York Times this week that I'm an ice queen, I'm the Sun King, I'm an alien fleeing from District 9 and I'm a dominatrix. So I reckon that makes me a lukewarm royalty with a whip from outer space.”
