Cynthia Rowley's show opened with awesomeness as usual -- a canvas dropped from above to cover the runway right before the models stomped onto it wearing slip-lace up booties and a whimsical parade of sequins jackets and pullovers, a sort of harem short that floated with each jaunt (and looks way better than I just described), and deconstructed horizontal box pleats. There were peeks of skin, through razor sharp slashes of fabric, but it wasn't about sex though the frocks were made of flirtation. This collection is not about being catcalled. "Hey, Smart Stuff," sounds more like it.

Quote of the Day

“Well, I, uh - I read in The New York Times this week that I'm an ice queen, I'm the Sun King, I'm an alien fleeing from District 9 and I'm a dominatrix. So I reckon that makes me a lukewarm royalty with a whip from outer space.”
