Even as I was subtly impressed with the structured, but flirty silhouettes of Derek Lam's day-to-night dresses (which ran the gamut from belted, zipper, denim, A-lines, color blocked dresses to mini corseted frocks n amazingly bright floral prints with asymmetrical, faux 'ripped' hemlines -- I couldn't help but thinking: "Gosh, dangit! Lam has joined the 'Pantsless Parade'!"
BUT , to his credit, he has done it so well that I'm sure those on the vanguard of the Pantless Movement -- Beyonce, Lady GaGa, Katy Perry, Rihanna -- will find a way to work them into their looks NEXT spring. I love how he tricked out the 'no pants look' and paired it with both cropped cinched waists blazers, pin-tucked elegant blouses and even mini capes.
