Hands down, Mizrahi had the most creative runway at the tents this season. Fabulously dressed 'Ladies' were driven around in golf carts with equally well dressed 'Dandies'. A wonderful collection of subtly dazzling separates--sequin minis with matching waist skimming tops, cropped geo-shaped jackets paired with voluminous silk pants and painted on skirts completed by life-sized bows dangling from waistlines--were only upstaged by glorious gowns. The most unique theme throughout these gowns was an 'inside-out' effect. Black vintage lace was spilled on top of a rosebud print, while a 'white slip' with geometric patterns was layered over black satin to note a few.
The accessories consisted of stiff straw looking hats and equally stiff, mini suitcases and over-sized briefcases.
It appears that Mizarhi wants to outfit the every mood of the roaring 20's and decadent 80's working gal.........
“Well, I, uh - I read in The New York Times this week that I'm an ice queen, I'm the Sun King, I'm an alien fleeing from District 9 and I'm a dominatrix. So I reckon that makes me a lukewarm royalty with a whip from outer space.”
