Marc by Marc Jacobs Spring 2010: Feeling It?

In this collection Jacobs takes the heavy '80s trend and spins it on its axis. True, bright poppy colors and prints are paired recklessly together--striped, polka dot and checkered tops were mixed with bubble skirts and cropped joggers made from Batik fabric, bright neon colored day dresses are accessorized with mix matching headbands, belts and bags -- but his choice to use heavily ethnic prints, both muted and bold plaid '90s style fabrics, toned down 'Power Shoulders' and shrunken tulle skirts--saved it from being a complete remake of the currently super popular fashion decade.

Very smart, Marc, very smart...

Quote of the Day

“Well, I, uh - I read in The New York Times this week that I'm an ice queen, I'm the Sun King, I'm an alien fleeing from District 9 and I'm a dominatrix. So I reckon that makes me a lukewarm royalty with a whip from outer space.”
