Marie Antoinette meets Marc Jacobs in his grunge period in Marc Jacobs' spring 2010 collection of tightly-curled ruffles, fussy boho layers, diaphanous dresses, and boyfriend jackets. As is usual with his collections though, when you ignore the styling and look at each piece for what they are, you see the next-level genius of his work. For Jacobs it's not about designing wearable pieces, but creating unique, crafted pieces you'll want to wear. I can't say I want to wear all of the looks in this presentation, but I'll gladly rock the dreamy sheer dresses, and get my Lady Gaga on (she was in the house) in his frothy ruffled jackets, bandeaus, and rompers. Will you be wearing this next spring?
“Well, I, uh - I read in The New York Times this week that I'm an ice queen, I'm the Sun King, I'm an alien fleeing from District 9 and I'm a dominatrix. So I reckon that makes me a lukewarm royalty with a whip from outer space.”
