Toni Maticevski's collection of svelte pencil skirts, and drapey architectural gowns festooned with cumulus layers of tulle and organza flowers is another strong interpretation of a surfacing trend in the spring 2010 collections that have showed thus far: the new romance. Using painterly prints, and heavy-handed girly frills -- ruffles, laces, florettes... -- designers are presenting a new vision for romance that is as tough as it is sentimental. Loved this one. What say you?

Quote of the Day

“Well, I, uh - I read in The New York Times this week that I'm an ice queen, I'm the Sun King, I'm an alien fleeing from District 9 and I'm a dominatrix. So I reckon that makes me a lukewarm royalty with a whip from outer space.”

— Anna Wintour discussing her reputation on Letterman. From NYDN
