True Blood's Rutina Wesley's Monochromatic Outfit: Fly or Bye?

You may know Rutina Wesley better as Sookie Stackhouse's best friend Tara with the razor sharp mouth and girl next door style. But with her personal style, Welsey ups the ante by opting for a monochromatic three-piece look: dramatic grey wrap coat, matching knee length suede boots, and sweater dress.
I'll be honest and say that while this is a great grabbing-a cup-of-coffee-and-dashing-into-the-salon ensemble, it falls horribly flat on the Red Carpet.
