The Braidy Bunch: Fly or 'Bye?

So I was watching Gossip Girl last night and couldn't help but notice Blake Lively's attempt to rekindle the braid. She rocked it at the Emmy's and, last night, there it was again -- her sleeked back, high braided pony.

I wasn't really digging it, quite frankly, and I'm not usually a Blake-hater (though her overly spray-tanned face might have been throwing me off). She got me thinking though: should the braid be left in the past, or is it a classic that needs to be brought back?

I turned my prudish eyes away from the threesome flashback scenes on GG, and BBM'd the knitwear Buyer, Kate, to ask her thoughts. We have both enjoyed sporting the Lauren Conrad hippie mini braids, and we're also both suckers for a good trend. Thus, began our Great Braid Debate.

I've decided I enjoy the low messy braid, and that it is indeed a classic look, but Kate challenged me and said she digs the Serena. So we both rocked our looks to the office today.
